Aniam Dery

Born 1985 in Bat Yam, lives and works in Jerusalem.

Dery works on installations that combine drawing, sculpture, and video, while also incorporating performative actions in the exhibition space. The starting point for her work is biographical; through a focus on the home, objects, trinkets, and small symbols, she clarifies questions and doubts about politics, society, and tradition in their local context.

Dery holds a both master's degree (2021) and a bachelor's degree (2014) in fine arts from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem. She has presented solo exhibitions at The Ramla Center for Contemporary Art, The Jerusalem Artists' House, and The Jerusalem Biennale. Her works have been exhibited in group exhibitions, including at the Tel Aviv Museum, MOBY- Museums of Bat Yam, The New Gallery Artists’ Studios at Teddy Stadium, Shenkar Gallery in Ramat Gan, Benyamini Contemporary Ceramics Center, The Acre Festival, the Tower of David Museum and the Bible Lands Museum. Dery has won the Alan Cooper Award for Excellence from the Bezalel Department of Art, the Mifal HaPayis Grant for the Creation of a Solo Exhibition, and the Lockman Scholarship for Bezalel Graduate Programs.
