At a time when the lungs shrink from lack of air, and the sense of suffocation keeps increasing, art becomes an alternative atmosphere. Neither a flight to Mars nor complex quantum calculations allows us, from one moment to the next, to be there, in a place where it is possible to breathe, even to feel unbound.

The gravitation of the death planet that burdens our steps receives a counter-reaction - though only momentarily - of color, attention, energy, and imagination.

We know these are small, rare moments, and that art has already been defeated reality. Perhaps now this is exactly what we have left – just to be. Avoiding being digested, a defiant presence, meaningful resistance – we are here.
